Hawks at Heat

The Atlanta Hawks hope to carry the momentum from a huge second-half comeback on the road when they travel to Miami for a matchup with the Heat on Wednesday. The Hawks rallied from a 23-point deficit to stun visiting Boston 109-105, their third straight win and their fifth in six games. The Heat look to bounce back from an embarrassing 107-86 loss at Washington on Monday and even the season series with Atlanta.

The Hawks continue to close strong — they outscored the Celtics 59-39 in the second half and average an NBA-best 27.6 points in the fourth quarter — but their coach could live without the need for late heroics. "You can't do this on a regular basis," Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters. "You can't dig a hole and come out of it. I think it speaks to the resiliency of this group, but you can't keep doing it." Miami has struggled to a 4-5 mark at home after going 32-9 on its home court a year ago, but the Heat have won five straight meetings with the Hawks in Miami.

ABOUT THE HAWKS (10-6): Atlanta has some solid depth, as evidence by Budenholzer playing the hot hand with second-year point guard Dennis Schroder, who scored 11 of his career-high 15 points in the fourth quarter Tuesday while leading scorer Jeff Teague (17.4 points, 7.3 assists) sat. All five starters average double-digit scoring, and the Hawks can score inside and outside. Big men Paul Millsap (16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds) and Al Horford (13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds) control the paint, while Teague can drive or spot up and Kyle Korver (13.6 points) is among the league's best outside shooters.

ABOUT THE HEAT (9-8): Star forward Chris Bosh (21.5 points, 8.8 rebounds) said Miami is still "working out the kinks" as he and Dwyane Wade (20.5 points, 5.6 assists) adjust to life without LeBron James and a new supporting cast. The Heat have been one of the league's best 3-point shooting teams but went 2-for-22 from outside against the Wizards, including 0-for-12 in the second half. Miami will be a bit short-handed on the bench with big man Chris Andersen out with an ankle injury.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Korver (1,556) needs three 3-point field goals to tie Glen Rice for 16th on the NBA's all-time list.

2. Miami is 8-0 when leading after three quarters.

3. Atlanta has scored at least 90 points in every game, its longest streak to start a season since doing so in the first 34 contests in 1989-90.
