Hawks at Hornets
The Atlanta Hawks halted a 10-game losing streak by beating the Charlotte Hornets earlier in the week. Atlanta looks to repeat the feat when it visits the Hornets on Wednesday while searching for its third straight win.
Forward John Collins recorded 23 points and 11 rebounds in Sunday's 124-123 victory over Charlotte and he followed up with 16 points as one of five players in double digits in Tuesday's 115-113 road win over the Miami Heat. "Our guys stayed the course and continued to fight," Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce told reporters postgame. "... We're just trying to get over that hump." The Hornets rebounded from the loss to Atlanta with Monday's 110-107 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks that followed a stretch of four defeats in six games. Star guard Kemba Walker scored 21 points against the Bucks and has recorded 20 or more in 16 of the team's 20 games.

ABOUT THE HAWKS (5-16): Point guard Trae Young had 17 points and 10 assists against Miami for his seventh double-double of the season and Pierce was highly pleased with the rookie despite his 5-of-12 shooting effort. "I thought he was great, they blitzed him pretty much the entire second half," Pierce told reporters. "It is hard for him to get shots off against the blitz. He had 10 assists, he got the ball moving. Ten assists, three turnovers. We'll take that every single night." Young had 18 points and five assists against the Hornets on Sunday but committed five turnovers and was just 6-of-18 shooting.
ABOUT THE HORNETS (10-10): Point guard Tony Parker contributed 15 points and six assists in 21 minutes against Milwaukee after missing the previous two games due to a rib injury. Parker has been a solid performer off the bench and coach James Borrego said the fact Parker is a "calming influence" comes in handy during tight contests. "Having Tony back just steadies us," Borrego told reporters of the 36-year-old. "He's a winner. He's been a winner his entire career."
