Celtics 102, Hawks 90
Ray Allen and Glen “Big Baby” Davis scored 18 points apiece and the Boston Celtics won their 12th consecutive game by posting a 102-90 victory over the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Thursday.
Kevin Garnett added 17 points and 14 rebounds added for Boston (21-4).
Marvin Williams scored a season-high 26 points to pace Atlanta (16-11).
The Celtics played without point guard Rajon Rondo, who sprained his left ankle during Wednesday’s victory over the New York Knicks. Center Shaquille O’Neal (calf) also missed his fourth consecutive contest.
Paul Pierce had 15 points and 10 assists and Nate Robinson had 14 points while starting in place of Rondo. Davis had 10 rebounds.
Atlanta’s Al Horford and Josh Smith combined for just nine points, with Smith scoring just one point while missing all eight of his field-goal attempts.
The Hawks were without the services of sixth man Jamal Crawford, who missed the game due to an ailing back. Jeff Teague got extended minutes with Crawford out and scored a season-high 18 points.
