Magic 86, Celtics 78
Brandon Bass finished with 21 points and nine rebounds and Jameer Nelson scored 10 of his 12 points in the final 2:31 as the Orlando Magic came from behind to take down Boston 86-78 Saturday, ending the Celtics' 14-game winning streak.
Hedo Turkoglu added 16 points for Orlando, which scored 15 of the last 16 points in the fourth quarter.
The Magic jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter before everything started to break Boston’s way. Paul Pierce scored eight points during a 15-0 spurt that gave the Celtics back the lead. They opened it up in the second quarter, ending the half with a 14-4 burst to go into the break up, 46-36.
Orlando battled back late, knotting it at 77-77 with 1:55 left in the game when Bass drained a mid-range jumper. Nelson gave the Magic their first lead since the second quarter 36 seconds later when he knocked down a 3-pointer. Kevin Garnett split a pair of free throws on Boston’s next possession but J.J. Redick came down and drained a jumper with 43 seconds left to push it back to 82-78.
Garnett collected 22 points and five rebounds for the Celtics, who shot 35 percent for the game.
