Celtics 115, Warriors 93
Rajon Rondo celebrated his 25th birthday with 19 points and 15 assists, and Kevin Garnett collected 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Boston Celtics began a four-game road trip with a 115-93 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
Paul Pierce added 23 points and Ray Allen scored 18 for the Celtics (41-14), who shot 56 percent from the field and outrebounded the Warriors 52-35.
It was 60-60 at halftime before Boston locked down on defense and held Golden State to one field goal over the final 4:53 of the third quarter to turn a three-point edge into an 88-78 lead heading into the fourth.
The Warriors cut it down to four points, 90-86, with nine minutes left, but Pierce scored six points and Rondo dished out three assists during an 18-2 burst over the next six minutes to put the game away.
Dorell Wright scored 19 points and Stephen Curry chipped in 18 for Golden State (26-30), which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
