Nets 102, Clippers 98 (OT)
Jordan Farmar scored all 24 of his points after intermission, including a crucial 3-pointer in overtime, leading the New Jersey Nets to a 102-98 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
Brook Lopez added 24 points, converting consecutive jump hooks from the right baseline to open overtime, and Kris Humphries contributed 19 and a career-high 20 rebounds for the Nets (21-43), who won their season-high fourth straight.
Blake Griffin scored 23 points for the Clippers (25-41) but missed a potential winning free throw with 1.2 seconds left in regulation and committed two offensive fouls in the first two minutes of the extra session. Chris Kaman also had 23 to go with 10 boards as the Clippers’ saw their season-high four-game winning streak snapped.
After Lopez hit his baskets to open overtime, Mo Williams countered for the Clippers with two free throws. Farmar then stoked a 3-pointer – his fifth – from the right wing with 2:27 left that provided the Nets a 101-96 lead.
Griffin converted a layup, but Williams missed a good-looking 3-pointer from the right wing with 13.8 seconds remaining that would have tied it.
