Pistons 116, Nets 109
Richard Hamilton had 25 points, Rodney Stuckey scored 22 and the Detroit Pistons overcame Brook Lopez’s big night in a 116-109 victory over the visiting New Jersey Nets on Wednesday.
Lopez scored a career-high 39 points on 14-of-20 shooting, but it wasn’t enough as Nets lost for the ninth straight time at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Greg Monroe had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit, which shot 55 percent. Stuckey had 10 assists and Hamilton added nine.
The Pistons’ lead was trimmed to 104-102 with 6:24 left in the fourth on Jordan Farmar’s 3-pointer. But Stuckey then followed with a personal 6-0 run to push it 110-102 with 4:13 to play.
Farmar finished with 18 points and 11 assists filling in for point guard Deron Williams, who stayed in New Jersey to visit a hand specialist regarding his injured wrist.
