Lakers 93, 76ers 81
Lamar Odom led the way with 28 points and Pau Gasol added 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the fourth quarter en route to a 93-81 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.
Kobe Bryant struggled to nine points on 3-of-11 shooting but Matt Barnes picked up some of the slack off the bench with 15 points and 10 boards for the Lakers, who pushed their latest winning streak to four games.
Los Angeles trailed 62-58 heading into the fourth after the 76ers closed the third quarter with a 7-2 burst to take the lead. The Lakers made quick work of that deficit in the fourth, showing upstart Philadelphia exactly how championship teams close out games by opening with a 13-2 spurt during which Odom completed a pair of three-point plays and Barnes scored five points.
Odom’s 3-pointer with 6:24 left opened the gap to double digits and his dunk just over a minute later made it 83-68 and ended the Sixers’ hopes of a comeback. Los Angeles would end up outscoring Philadelphia 35-19 in the fourth.
Spencer Hawes had 18 points and 13 rebounds while Andre Iguodala added 18 points and six assists for the Sixers.
