Suns 110, Raptors 92
Vince Carter collected 17 points, seven rebounds and six steals and Marcin Gortat chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds as the visiting Phoenix Suns jumped out early and crushed the Toronto Raptors, 110-92, on Friday.
Channing Frye added 16 points and Steve Nash shook off a 2 of 12 shooting night with 11 assists and seven rebounds for the Suns, who have won six of eight.
Phoenix took control from the start, dominating the first quarter to build up a 35-14 edge. Carter led the way with 11 points and Frye added 10 in the frame thanks in part to Nash’s seven assists. The Raptors shot 6 of 20 in the quarter, with only Andrea Bargnani’s 12 points keeping them from greater embarrassment.
Toronto found its shooting stroke in the second, going 12 of 19 from the field, but the Suns did not let up and took a 60-42 lead into the break.
The Raptors could not close the gap in the second half as Phoenix cruised to the easy win.
Bargnani finished with 26 points on 12-of-15 shooting for Toronto.
