Mavericks 114, Raptors 96
Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points and 13 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks recovered from an early 19-point deficit to record a 114-96 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
Shawn Marion added 20 points and Jason Terry scored 19 as Dallas (43-16) won its sixth straight game and 16th of the last 17.
Amir Johnson scored 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting for Toronto (16-44).
Dallas scored the first two points of the game before Toronto rolled off 18 consecutive points. Johnson had 10 points in the first six-plus minutes, including the basket that gave the Raptors a 22-3 lead.
The Mavericks cut Toronto’s lead to 57-50 at halftime and then used an 11-0 run to take a 65-61 lead with 5:41 left in the third quarter. Marion scored the go-ahead basket and Jason Kidd followed with a 3-pointer.
Dallas opened the fourth quarter by hitting nine consecutive field-goal attempts to stretch its lead to 97-80 on Terry’s 20-footer.
DeMar DeRozan scored 19 points, while Jose Calderon had 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Raptors, who were missing leading-scorer Andrea Bargnani with the flu.
