Bulls 123, Suns 115 (2OT)
Derrick Rose had 35 points and a season-high 12 rebounds to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 123-115 double-overtime victory over the host Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.
Rose’s game-tying layup in the final second of the first overtime forced a second extra session. Rose followed by scoring Chicago’s first five points of the second overtime as part of a decisive 10-2 run.
Luol Deng added 26 points and 10 rebounds as Chicago (8-5) overcame a 23-point first-quarter deficit.
Kyle Korver added 24 points and Joakim Noah had 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Bulls.
Grant Hill scored a season-high 27 points for the Suns (7-8). Hakim Warrick added 23 points, all in the first half.
Phoenix’s Jason Richardson scored 20 points, Channing Frye had 16 points and Steve Nash contributed 14 points and 16 assists.
The Suns led 36-13 late in the first quarter and still led by 12 points after three quarters. The Bulls got back into the game by starting the fourth quarter with a 14-5 run and forced overtime on two free throws by Rose with 14.7 seconds left.
Chicago earned its first lead of the game on Rose’s basket 21 seconds into the first overtime.
