Bulls 91, Jazz 86

Derrick Rose scored 29 points and Carlos Boozer added 14 in his first contest against his former club as the Chicago Bulls defeated the host Utah Jazz, 91-86, on Wednesday.

Rose also had seven assists against just one turnover as Chicago (35-16) overcame 39.8 percent shooting to snap a two-game losing streak.

Al Jefferson scored 26 points and Paul Millsap had 20 and 14 rebounds for Utah (31-23).

Boozer played six seasons with Utah before leaving as a free agent. He made 6-of-16 shots and had six rebounds.

Utah point guard Deron Williams had 11 points and 12 assists while playing with an injured wrist. Williams was just 5-of-13 shooting from the field and committed three turnovers in the last 65 seconds, the last with Utah trailing by three points with seven seconds left.

Former Jazz Ronnie Brewer then hit two free throws to put away the game for the Bulls.

Utah held a 60-58 lead after Jefferson’s basket with 4:41 left in the third quarter. But Chicago finished the period with an 8-0 run – a short basket by Rose with 3:25 remaining put Chicago ahead – as the Jazz missed their seven final shots.

Chicago’s largest lead was eight points, coming at 34-26 on Boozer’s dunk with 5:16 remaining in the first half.

Andrei Kirilenko added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Utah.
