Hawks 91, Magic 81

Al Horford had 24 points and 11 rebounds to help the host Atlanta Hawks defeat the new-look Orlando Magic 91-81 on Monday.

Joe Johnson added 17 points as Atlanta (18-12) moved past Orlando (16-11) into second place in the Southeast Division.

Dwight Howard had 19 points and 20 rebounds in the Magic’s first game since revamping the roster by acquiring Gilbert Arenas, Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Richardson in separate deals with Washington and Phoenix.

All three players struggled as Orlando shot just 35.2 percent from the field while losing its third straight game and seventh in its last eight contests.

Arenas scored 10 points on 2-of-11 shooting, Richardson had nine points and Turkoglu had eight points.

Mike Bibby scored 15 points, Josh Smith had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Marvin Williams had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks.

Orlando’s Jameer Nelson scored 18 points.

Atlanta sixth man Jamal Crawford missed his fourth straight game due to a sore back.
