Rockets 112, Hawks 106

Aaron Brooks came off the bench to score 24 points and dish out 10 assists, and Luis Scola added 20 points as the Houston Rockets rallied for a 112-106 victory Saturday over Atlanta to hand the Hawks their first home loss since Nov. 22.

The Hawks led by as many as nine in the third quarter, but the Rockets (18-23) chipped the lead to one by the end of the frame and opened the fourth quarter on an 18-4 run.

Atlanta (26-15) had won five straight and their past 10 home games, a streak that dated to a loss to Boston nearly eight weeks ago.

It was only the second win in the past nine games for Houston, which had six players score in double figures. Kris Lowry and Jordan Hill added 16 apiece, Chuck Hayes had 12 and Kevin Martin scored 10 despite playing just 17 minutes.

Joe Johnson scored a game-high 30 points for Atlanta, and Al Horford had 24 points and 10 rebounds while Josh Smith recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds.

The Rockets were without reserve center Brad Miller, who continues to battle a knee injury. Atlanta played without forward Marvin Williams, who missed a seventh consecutive game with a back injury.
