Hawks 95, Warriors 79
Josh Smith collected 26 points and nine rebounds and Al Horford added 22 points and 13 boards as the visiting Atlanta Hawks snapped a three-game skid with a 95-79 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday.
Joe Johnson added 12 points and five assists for the Hawks, who had dropped five of six entering Friday’s contest.
Atlanta used a 15-2 run in the first quarter, highlighted by a 3-pointer from newcomer Kirk Hinrich, to open up a 25-12 lead. They weren't challenged afterward, building up a 55-35 advantage at the half and stretching it to 77-48 when Johnson drove for a layup late in the third.
The Warriors, who managed only 33 points in the second half in a loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, could not find their offensive rhythm again, shooting 37 percent from the floor, including 2 of 12 from beyond the arc.
David Lee finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors while Monta Ellis struggled to 16 points on 7-of-21 shooting.
