Warriors 96, Bobcats 95
Monta Ellis poured in 25 points and Stephen Curry added 24 as the Golden State Warriors held on for a 96-95 road victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday afternoon.
Dorell Wright added 17 for the Warriors, who handed the Bobcats their first loss under new head coach Paul Silas.
The Golden State victory wasn't without its dramatic moments. After Ellis hit a layup to put the Warriors up 96-90 with 1:20 remaining, the Bobcats drew to within one on a Stephen Jackson foul shot and layups by Gerald Henderson and Boris Diaw.
Ellis was charged with an offensive foul on the ensuing Golden State possession with just eight seconds remaining, giving Charlotte one last chance at the victory. The Warriors escaped with the win after Jackson was off on his 3-point attempt with two seconds left.
Jackson had a team-best 22 points for the Bobcats, who had won two straight under Silas. Gerald Wallace added 20 points in defeat.
