Mavericks 101, Warriors 73
Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points and Peja Stojakovic returned to add 17 as the Dallas Mavericks stayed on the heels of the Los Angeles Lakers for second in the West with a 101-73 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Sunday night.
Stojakovic returned after missing six games with a stiff neck and made 5 of 8 3-pointers. Dallas (49-21) is a game behind the Lakers (50-20), who defeated Portland later Sunday. Forward Shawn Marion missed the Mavericks’ game with a sprained right wrist.
Tyson Chandler had 17 rebounds and Ian Mahinmi had a career-high 13 rebounds for Dallas, which has won six in a row over Golden State. Roddy Beaubois scored 15.
Monta Ellis led the Warriors (30-30) with 18 points. David Lee had 12 rebounds and 10 points for the Warriors, who were just 5 of 20 from 3-point range.
Golden State center Andris Biedrins is expected to miss the rest of the season with a high sprain on his left ankle. Rookie backup Ekpe Udoh started and had all eight of his points and three blocks in the first 20 minutes
