Kyle Lowry had 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and Kevin Martin scored 34 points as the Houston Rockets won their fourth straight game, 110-108 over the visiting Utah Jazz on Sunday night.
Luis Scola returned after missing five games with a left knee injury and scored four points for the Rockets (37-34), who pulled within 1½ games of the eighth-place Memphis Grizzlies (38-32) for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Paul Millsap led five players in double figures with 35 points for the Jazz (36-34), who fell two games behind the Grizzlies.
Behind eight points and three assists from Lowry in the final 3:43 of the first quarter, Houston turned a 15-15 tie into a 30-19 lead.
Houston was in control throughout, although Utah tied the game briefly at 65 in the third quarter. But Houston regained command and Martin and Lowry combined for the last 17 Houston points over the game's final 4:18.
