Grizzlies 102, Timberwolves 84
Rudy Gay snapped out of a mini-slump with 22 points as the visiting Memphis Grizzlies continued their winning ways with a 102-84 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Gay, who had just 17 points on 7-for-26 shooting in his last two games, made 8 of 14 shots and also had seven assists and seven rebounds.
Memphis (26-24) outscored Minnesota, 30-16, in the third quarter en route to its seventh victory in eight games. The Grizzlies also have won four of five on the road.
Zach Randolph had 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who improved to 14-7 this season when their power forward has a 20-10 game. Sam Young added 18 points.
Kevin Love had a quiet 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves (11-37), who have lost seven of eight and 12 of 14. Love has 10 or more rebounds in 34 straight games but averages 21.6 points and a league-best 15.6 boards.
The Grizzlies held Love to four rebounds and two points in the first half en route to a 49-41 lead.
Michael Beasley added 19 points for Minnesota, which has lost five of its last six meetings with Memphis. The Wolves fell to 2-34 when allowing 100 or more points.
