Hornets 94, Kings 91

Chris Paul had 22 points and 11 assists and Marcus Thornton hit the go-ahead basket as the New Orleans Hornets rallied for a 94-91 victory over the visiting Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.

Thornton’s short jumper with 3:04 to play gave the Hornets an 89-88 lead and helped New Orleans (15-10) rally from a 16-point halftime deficit to break a three-game losing streak.

Tyreke Evans scored 22 points and Beno Udrih had 20 to lead Sacramento (5-18). The Kings led by as many as 23 points before collapsing and losing for the 17th time in 19 games.

The Kings took an 88-85 lead with 3:38 left on a basket by rookie DeMarcus Cousins before the Hornets seized control with a 9-0 run.

Thornton scored 19 points for New Orleans, which won for just the second time in seven games.

Cousins and Carl Landry added 13 points apiece for the Kings. Sacramento led 57-41 at halftime but scored just 34 second-half points.
