Trail Blazers 96, Warriors 95

LaMarcus Aldridge had 17 points and 12 rebounds and the shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers held off the Golden State Warriors for a 96-95 victory on Saturday at the Rose Garden.

Monta Ellis got the Warriors within one with 33.5 seconds left on two free throws. Aldridge then missed from the right wing and Golden State's Reggie Williams rebounded, before Ellis missed a 20-footer at the buzzer.

The Trail Blazers (14-14) played without injured centers Joel Przybilla (ankle) and Marcus Camby (shoulder), and forward Nicolas Batum (shoulder). All-Star guard Brandon Roy also sat out his second game with a sore left knee.

Andre Miller had 17 points and eight assists, Rudy Fernandez scored 15, and Dante Cunningham and Wesley Matthews each scored 13 as the Blazers won their fifth in a row at home. Miller was fined $25,000 Saturday for throwing the ball in the stands after the Blazers’ 103-98 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Ellis led the Warriors with 26 points, but also had seven turnovers. David Lee had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Reggie Williams scored 16. Golden State (9-17) was again without starting guard Stephen Curry.
