Bulls 95, Hawks 83
Derrick Rose scored 11 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and added nine assists as the Chicago Bulls held off the visiting Atlanta Hawks to grab a 95-83 victory in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday.
Luol Deng added 23 points and Carlos Boozer collected 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulls, who took a 3-2 lead and will attempt to clinch the series in Game 6 at Atlanta on Thursday.
After coming out on fire in the first quarter and building the lead up to as much as 15 points, the Bulls let the Hawks back into it in the second, scoring exactly half the points (16) they put up in the first while taking 13 fewer shots.
Atlanta kept chipping away in the third quarter, drawing to within 69-68 by the end of the period as Jeff Teague began to force his way into the paint, pouring in 11 of his 21 points in the frame.
Teague scored the first basket of the fourth to give the Hawks the lead but Chicago took over from there, ripping off a 9-0 run book ended by driving layups from Rose. The Bulls would end up outscoring Atlanta 26-15 in the final frame to run away with it.
