Hawks 100, Heat 92

Joe Johnson scored 21 points and Tracy McGrady added 16 as the visiting Atlanta Hawks handed the Miami Heat their first loss of the season 100-92 on Monday night.

The Hawks (4-1) had lost six of seven to the Heat (5-1) and were just 4-25 in their last 29 games in Miami.

McGrady made all three of his 3-pointers, including one that gave the Hawks a 93-84 lead with 2:26 remaining and another for a 96-85 lead with 1:09 left.

LeBron James led Miami with 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Chris Bosh scored 19 and Dwyane Wade added 12 points and 10 assists.

The Hawks got plenty of help from their bench in securing the lead in the fourth quarter. McGrady, who also had seven rebounds, and Jannero Pargo (8 points) made major contributions.

Atlanta, playing its fifth game in seven days, had more steals (10-5) and fewer turnovers (16-10) than Miami.
