Nuggets 110, Kings 83

Al Harrington scored 15 points off the bench and helped spearhead a 24-5 run bridging the first and second quarters as the host Denver Nuggets routed the Sacramento Kings 110-83 on Wednesday.

Kosta Koufos, making his second straight start for the injured Nene, had 10 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double as the Nuggets (5-2) improved to 4-0 at home and had 12 players score at least six points. Denver shot 60.5 percent from the field.

DeMarcus Cousins had 26 points, three steals and three blocks as the Kings (2-5) lost their sixth straight at Denver and were playing the middle of back-to-back-to back games. All the Kings’ losses this season have been by more than 10 points.

The Nuggets made eight of their last 10 field goals in the first quarter and finished the period on a 10-3 run to take a 27-17 lead. The Kings were 6 for 23 from the floor, including 1 for 6 from 3-point range.

Denver continued to pour it on with a 14-2 burst to start the second quarter and made seven of its first eight shots in the period. Corey Brewer scored six points during the run while Rudy Fernandez added four.

Denver increased its lead to 30 in the fourth quarter on Fernandez’ no-look, over-the-head, alley-oop pass to rookie Kenneth Faried which brought the Pepsi Center crowd to its feet.

Faried had seven points, four rebounds and four blocks in 10 minutes.
