Marcin Gortat scored 18 points, Steve Nash dished out 17 assists and the Phoenix Suns used some hot shooting to continue their home dominance against Milwaukee with a 109-93 victory over the Bucks on Sunday night.
The win was the Suns’ 24th straight at home versus the Bucks dating back to the 1986-87 campaign. It’s the second-longest active streak in the NBA.
Channing Frye had 16 points and Shannon Brown and Grant Hill added 14 apiece as seven Suns reached double-figures. Phoenix shot 55.8 percent and made 10 of 22 3-pointers.
Rookie Tobias Harris scored 15 points off the bench to lead Milwaukee, which went winless on its five-game road trip.
Phoenix shot 58.5 percent in the first half to grab a 57-47 lead at the break. The Suns continued their hot shooting ways after halftime to pull away.
Brandon Jennings got the Bucks within 62-53 with a free throw after a technical foul. The Suns then went on a 20-5 run over the next five minutes.
Markieff Morris hit a 3-pointer, Gortat made a pair of jumpers and Hill was fouled while making a layup to push the advantage to 82-58 late in the frame.
Morris finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Gortat made 9 of 10 shots and Frye hit all four 3-pointer attempts.
