Bulls 78, Wizards 64

John Lucas III made the most of a rare opportunity with 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 78-64 victory over the visiting Washington Wizards on Wednesday.

With reigning MVP Derrick Rose sitting out due to turf toe, Lucas was tabbed for a rare career start at point guard for the Bulls. The Oklahoma State product played a career-high 46 minutes and shot 11 of 28 from the field.

Luol Deng chipped in 12 points and 15 rebounds and Kyle Korver scored 14 points off the bench for Chicago, which became the second team to sweep a back-to-back-to-back set this season.

The Bulls began to pull away at the end of game, closing the fourth quarter with a 9-0 burst. Lucas scored five points in the spurt, capping it with a 3-pointer with 1:35 on the clock.

The Wizards shot 31 percent (26 of 84) in the contest and managed a total of 27 points in the second half.

John Wall continued to struggle for Washington, scoring 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting and committing four turnovers to go along with eight assists. Backcourt mate Nick Young had a tough night as well, shooting 2 of 11 from the floor.
