Kevin Durant scored 29 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to five games with a 95-85 victory over the host New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night.
Oklahoma City (10-2) scored nine straight points early in the third quarter to break a 50-50 tie and send New Orleans (3-7) to its seventh loss in eight games.
Chris Kaman and Carl Landry each scored 17 points to pace the Hornets, who have yet to reach the 100-point mark this season. New Orleans was 1 of 16 on 3-pointers.
The Thunder's winning streak has come in a grueling stretch that has seen them play five games in six nights.
Durant was 11 of 17 from the field and added 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Russell Westbrook scored 22 points and James Harden added 14.
Durant scored five points while Westbrook added four to give the Thunder a 59-50 lead in the third quarter. Oklahoma City maintained the lead throughout the second half. New Orleans cut the margin to six late in the game, but could get no closer.
Oklahoma City has won six of the last seven games against New Orleans.
