Spurs 85, Magic 83 (OT)
Gary Neal hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 28 seconds left in overtime to help San Antonio beat the Orlando Magic 85-83 on Wednesday night for the Spurs’ first road win of the season.
Tony Parker finished with 25 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Spurs, who were winless in five road tilts coming in. Tim Duncan had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
After Dwight Howard tied things with 39 seconds to play, Daniel Green found Neal for the 3. Von Wafer was fouled while making a layup on the other end, but he missed the free throw to keep the Spurs in front 84-83.
Richard Jefferson split a pair at the line for the two-point cushion and Ryan Anderson came up empty on his look at a go-ahead 3-pointer.
Howard had 24 points and 25 rebounds, including nine on the offensive end. Anderson added 17 points and 11 rebounds as the Magic won the rebounding battle, 60-41.
Parker scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of jumpers on back-to-back possessions to push the lead to 73-69 with 2:44 remaining. J.J. Redick later made a pair of free throws and then tied things 73-73 on a layup.
Duncan put the Spurs back in front with a short hook shot as 30 seconds remained. Redick tied it 75-75 13 seconds later with two more from the stripe.
The Spurs were just 2 of 17 on 3-pointers.
