Timberwolves 101, Clippers 98

Kevin Love made a 28-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer as the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers 101-98 Friday night.

Love sank the deep shot from the left wing on Luke Ridnour's pass as the Timberwolves came out of a timeout with 1.5 seconds remaining.

The Clippers, already without Chris Paul, played without Caron Butler (hyperextended right knee). Ryan Gomes had 11 points in his place.

Darko Milicic had a season-high 22 points and seven rebounds. Love continued his streak of a double-double in every game this season with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Mo Williams scored 25 off the bench for the Clippers after a 26-point game against Dallas. Blake Griffin had 21 points and 10 rebounds. Chauncey Billups scored 20.

Los Angeles led by as much as 15 but saw the margin slip to one at 91-90 on Ricky Rubio's free throws with 4:37 remaining. Billups canned a 3-pointer for a 96-90 lead before Milicic made back-to-back baskets.

Minnesota had a chance to get within one possession but missed four consecutive shots. But Rubio gave the Timberwolves a chance when he made a free throw and then nailed his only field goal in 11 attempts - a 24-foot 3-pointer to tie the score at 98 with 20 seconds remaining - and Love did not disappoint.
