Pacers 98, Lakers 96

Roy Hibbert overcame a broken nose to score 18 points and Darren Collison was clutch down the stretch as the Indiana Pacers knocked off the host Los Angeles Lakers 98-96 on Sunday.

Hibbert suffered a broken nose in the first quarter, but returned and also had eight rebounds for the Pacers, who had all five starters reach double figures.

Collison hit a running jumper in the key to put the Pacers up 95-94 with 1:15 left, and made two free throws to put Indiana ahead 97-94 with eight seconds to go.

Kobe Bryant missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with three seconds remaining and finished with 33 points for the Lakers. He has scored 30 or more points in nine of his last 12 games.

The Lakers built a 13-point lead after the first quarter, but the Pacers pushed back to score 35 second-quarter points to narrow the gap and get back into the game en route to their fifth victory in their last six games.

Collison had 12 points and seven assists while David West recorded 15 points and nine rebounds for Indiana.
