Mavericks 116, Jazz 101
Roddy Beaubois scored a season-high 22 points to spark the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks to a 116-101 rout of the visiting Utah Jazz on Friday night.
Lamar Odom also had a season high with 19 points and helped trigger a game-breaking run as the Mavericks beat the Jazz for the sixth consecutive time in Dallas.
Jason Terry scored 18 points for the Mavericks, who connected on 11 of 19 3-pointers in rebounding from a home loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. Brendan Haywood had 12 points and 12 rebounds as Dallas outrebounded Utah 44-33.
Paul Millsap had 20 points and Al Jefferson had 19 but it wasn't enough to prevent the Jazz from losing for the third time in four games.
With point guard Jason Kidd suffering a calf strain in the first quarter and Dirk Nowitzki sitting out his fourth straight game on a conditioning assigment, Beaubois and Odom each came up big.
Beaubois nailed a 3-pointer and Odom followed by drilling back-to-back shots from behind the arc to extend the Mavericks' lead to 99-86 with seven minutes to play.
Terry sparked a mini-spurt midway through the third as Dallas went ahead 77-63, but Millsap scored 11 in a 17-5 run to get the Jazz back in the game.
