Bucks 100, Lakers 89
Drew Gooden had 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the
Milwaukee Bucks to a 100-89 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers on
Saturday.
Ersan Ilyasova and Mike Dunleavy scored 15 points apiece as
Milwaukee won for the first time in seven games this season without sidelined
Andrew Bogut (ankle).
Kobe Bryant had 27 points and nine assists for Los Angeles,
which fell to 1-7 on the road.
Milwaukee never trailed after a 17-0 spurt encompassing a
four-minute span of the first and second quarters.
The Lakers led 23-17 prior to the Bucks scoring the final 10
points of the opening quarter and initial seven of the second. Dunleavy’s
three-point play culminated the charge as the Bucks took an 11-point advantage.
Brandon Jennings had 12 points and seven assists, Shaun
Livingston tallied 11 points and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute added 10 points for
Milwaukee.
Andrew Bynum scored 15 points, Andrew Goudelock added 13
points and Pau Gasol had 12 points and 15 rebounds for Los Angeles, which began
a stretch in which eight of nine games are on the road.
Bryant made six of seven free throws to surpass Hall of Famer
Jerry West as the franchise’s all-time leader in free throws made with 7,163.
Ilyasova was 7 for 9 from the field and Dunleavy hit six of eight shots
for Milwaukee, which led 51-43 at halftime.
