Hawks 100, Raptors 77
Joe Johnson matched his season high with 30 points to lead
the Atlanta Hawks to a convincing 100-77 victory over the host Toronto Raptors
on Tuesday.
Tracy McGrady added 15 points as Atlanta won its third
straight game and defeated the Raptors for the sixth consecutive time.
Jerryd Bayless scored 14 points for Toronto, which is just
2-6 at home.
The Hawks completed a five-game road trip with a 4-1 record,
marking the first time they have won four or more games during a five-game
excursion since 1968.
Johnson scored 24 points in the first half while making 10
of 12 shots. He scored 10 points in Atlanta’s half-ending 12-2 run that gave
the Hawks a 56-37 halftime advantage. Overall, Johnson was 13 of 18 from the
field.
The Hawks shot 60 percent from the field in the first half
and finished at 51.2 percent.
Atlanta’s lead reached as many as 26 points in the final quarter.
Ed Davis had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors, who
shot just 37 percent from the field and made just four of 20 3-point attempts.
Toronto was without center Andrea Bargnani (calf) for the
ninth time in 11 games.
