Warriors 120, Wizards 100
WARRIORS 120, WIZARDS 100: Monta Ellis scored 25 points and Golden State got a lift from the brief return of Stephen Curry as it snapped a two-game slide and handed Washington its seventh loss in the last eight games.
Ekpe Udoh scored 17 points and David Lee added 13 and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who broke out offensively after slumping with Curry on the bench.
Curry had played only three seconds in the previous four games after suffering a foot injury on Feb. 22 at Phoenix. The first-round pick came off the bench for 10 minutes on Monday and provided enough spark to get up to 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Golden State is normally one of the highest-scoring teams in the NBA but had been held to an average of 80.3 points over the previous four contests.
It was clear from the start that the Warriors were over their offensive woes, putting up 41 points in the first quarter to grab an early double-digit lead. Ellis, who added eight assists, scored 14 points during the period and Curry buried a 3-pointer on his first attempt.
Brandon Rush’s 3-pointer early in the second quarter pushed the lead to 51-26 and Golden State was never really threatened.
Washington, which had snapped a six-game losing streak against Cleveland over the weekend, has allowed 100 or more points in eight of its last nine games.
Nick Young scored 25 points off the bench to lead the Wizards.
