BULLS 106, BUCKS 104: Derrick Rose hit the game-winner as time expired to lift Chicago to a season-high eighth straight win while continuing its dominance of Milwaukee.
After the Bucks made a late push to tie the score on Ersan Ilyasova’s layup with 24 seconds remaining, the Bulls called timeout to set up a final play. Rose then ended it with a 20-foot jumper.
Rose nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 30 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds. Joakim Noah added 20 points and 15 rebounds as the Bulls won their eighth in a row over the Bucks.
Ilyasova had 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead Milwaukee, which lost for the 10th time in 13 tries. Drew Gooden contributed 27 points.
The teams entered the fourth tied and traded the lead over the next eight minutes.
After Ilyasova put the Bucks in front 95-93 with a pair of free throws, the Bulls responded with six quick points. Luol Deng and Noah had baskets before Rose’s layup made it 99-95 with 2:32 to play.
Beno Udrih drew Milwaukee back even at 102-102 with a personal 5-0 run, capped by his layup with 42 seconds left. Rose then hit two free throws as the Bulls regained the lead, but Ilysova’s layup evened it 104-104.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Bulls shooting guard Richard Hamilton was not in uniform after suffering a right shoulder injury on Monday. … Brandon Jennings, the Bucks’ leading scorer, missed all five of his shots and had just two points at halftime. … Chicago shot 54 percent in the half for a 55-50 lead.
