: Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting as Dallas snapped a three-game slide and won for the third time in the last 11 games.

Jason Terry added 24 points and Rodrigue Beaubois scored 19 for the Mavericks, whose recent struggles had them in danger of falling out of the top eight in the Western Conference.

One of the oldest teams in the league, Dallas struggled during a stretch of nine games in 12 days that finished up on Saturday. After getting two full days off to rest, the Mavericks came out with much more energy on Tuesday.

Nowitzki went 8 for 9 from the floor in the first half as Dallas shot 62 percent to grab a 62-51 lead at the break.

The Wizards pulled within 85-79 early in the fourth quarter but Terry and Beaubois combined on the next seven points to push it back to double digits. Terry’s 3-pointer with 4:43 left made it 102-89 and the Mavericks were able to coast to the finish.

Trevor Booker collected 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Washington, which has dropped three straight.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Mavericks controlled the glass, 51-38. … Wizards PG John Wall recorded 18 points, 10 assists and one turnover. He has a 23-to-3 assist-to-turnover ratio in the last three games. … Washington placed six scorers in double figures.
