PACERS 93, MAGIC 78: George Hill scored 11 of his 18 points during a decisive third-quarter stretch as host Indiana evened the best-of-seven Eastern Conference series at 1-1.
David West had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Danny Granger also tallied 18 points and Paul George scored 17 as the Pacers avenged Saturday’s disappointing Game 1 home loss.
Glen Davis had 18 points and 10 rebounds and J.J. Redick added 13 points for Orlando.
Game 3 is Wednesday at Orlando.
Indiana took control with a 21-3 run in the third quarter to turn a three-point deficit into a 15-point advantage.
Granger began the surge with a tying 3-pointer and Hill went 4-for-4 from the field during the six-minute uprising as the Pacers took a 70-55 lead with 2:47 left in the third quarter.
Jameer Nelson scored six straight Orlando points as the Magic meandered within 11 with four minutes left, but Hill hit two free throws and West nailed a short shot to give the Pacers an 87-72 advantage with 3:24 remaining.
Nelson scored 12 points and Ryan Anderson added 11 for Orlando, which shot just 35.5 percent.
Roy Hibbert grabbed 13 rebounds for Indiana, which was 25 of 28 from the free-throw line.
Davis had 14 points and eight rebounds in the first half as the Magic took a 44-42 lead. Indiana led 18-7 midway through the first quarter before Orlando finished the stanza on a 14-6 spurt.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana had a 16-4 rebounding edge in the decisive third quarter. … Orlando guard Jason Richardson sprained his left thumb early in the contest and had just two points on 1-of-5 shooting after knocking down five 3-pointers in the opener. … Pacers center Roy Hibbert blocked two shots to raise his two-game count to 11. … Davis had six of his seven offensive boards in the first half.
