Pacers 97, Magic 74

PACERS 97, MAGIC 74: Danny Granger had 26 points and nine rebounds and Roy Hibbert had 18 points and 10 rebounds as visiting Indiana routed Orlando to take a 2-1 series lead in their Eastern Conference first-round series.

George Hill scored 15 points and Paul George added 12 as the Pacers dominated the third quarter for the second consecutive contest.

Glen Davis scored 22 points and J.J. Redick added 13 for the Magic, who are struggling without injured star center Dwight Howard.

Game 4 is Saturday in Orlando.

The Pacers led by six points at halftime before outscoring Orlando 32-17 in the decisive third quarter. Hibbert scored 12 points in the quarter and Granger added nine.

Indiana scored the first six points of the quarter and later used a 15-3 run to take a 72-51 lead on a basket by Granger with 1:24 remaining.

Indiana led 76-55 entering the final period and held Orlando to 36 second-half points.

In Game 2, the Pacers trailed by seven at halftime and used a 21-3 surge in the third quarter to take control en route to a 93-78 victory.

Granger was 5-of-9 from 3-point range after struggling (3 of 14) over the first two games of the series.

Indiana led 23-14 after one quarter and 44-38 at halftime. Hill had 13 first-half points for the Pacers while Orlando’s Davis had 16 points in the second quarter after a scoreless opening period.
