DeMarcus Cousins had 26 points and 14 rebounds and Marcus Thornton scored 20 points as host Sacramento snapped a four-game losing skid.
Tyreke Evans scored 18 points, Jimmer Fredette tallied 16 and John Salmons added 14 as the Kings ended a six-game home losing streak to Cleveland.
Dion Waiters scored a career-best 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting for the Cavaliers, who dropped to 5-19 on the road. Tristan Thompson had 17 points and 15 rebounds, C.J. Miles scored 17 and Kyrie Irving added 15 for Cleveland.
Sacramento led 31-24 after one quarter and led by as many as 13 in the second en route to a 69-57 halftime lead. The Kings shot 56.3 percent in the half.
Cleveland rattled off the first eight points of the second half and eventually pulled within 97-94 on a 3-pointer by Waiters with 7:37 to play. Sacramento got its lead back to nine on Fredette’s 3-pointer with just over four minutes remaining and held on down the stretch.
