: John Wall scored a career-high 47 points to lead short-handed Washington to its sixth straight home win.

Wall made 19-of-24 free throws and added a team-high eight assists for the Wizards, who played without starters Nene (knee) and Martell Webster (abdomen) and sixth man Trevor Ariza (flu). Emeka Okafor chipped in with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Mike Conley led Memphis with 23 points and Quincy Pondexter and Jerryd Bayless had 14 apiece off the bench. The Grizzlies, who played their second straight game without starting center Marc Gasol (abdomen), have lost four in a row on the road.

Wall had 16 points in the last 7:41 of the second quarter but Conley's 3-pointer beat the buzzer to tie it at 55 at the break. There were four more ties in the second half, the last of which was broken when Wall buried a 20-footer with 10:33 remaining to make it 78-76.

That shot began a 15-5 burst and Wall eclipsed his previous career high of 38 with a fadeaway jumper to give Washington a 94-83 advantage with 4:09 to go. Memphis got within four moments later, but Wall helped the hosts pull away with three free throws and a 3-pointer in the final minute.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Grizzlies went the first 5:12 of the second half without a basket. ... Two of Wall's 19 free throws came after Memphis technical fouls. ... Excluding Wall, Washington was 11-for-20 from the line.
