Chandler Parsons had 24 points, 12 rebounds and six assists and James Harden added 23 points as Houston recovered from a 19-point second-quarter deficit to defeat host Utah.
Jeremy Lin tallied 20 points and Dwight Howard had 15 points and nine rebounds as the Rockets won their third straight game. Houston shot 58.3 percent from the field in the second half, when it went 7-of-12 from 3-point range.
Richard Jefferson scored 18 points and Enes Kanter had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Jazz. Alec Burks and Gordon Hayward added 15 points apiece for Utah, which drops to 0-3.
The contest was tied entering the final quarter and Utah’s final lead was at 85-83 with 7:11 to play. Parsons capped a 7-0 run with a hoop with 5:09 remaining, and a 6-0 burst later in the period gave the Rockets a 101-90 lead with 1:54 to go.
Utah led 56-37 late in the first half en route to a 16-point lead at the break. Houston dominated the third quarter, when the Jazz shot 29.4 percent from the field, and finally took the lead at 73-71 on Francisco Garcia’s 3-pointer with 33 seconds left in the stanza.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Jazz shot just 32.4 percent from the field in the second half, including 1-of-10 from 3-point range. … Howard made 7-of-10 free throws after going 6-for-16 over Houston’s first two games. … The Rockets had a 21-8 edge in fast-break points.
