Anthony Davis had 22 points, nine rebounds and eight blocked shots to help New Orleans slide past Utah.
Ryan Anderson tallied 19 points and made four 3-pointers and Jrue Holiday added 14 points for the Pelicans. Tyreke Evans scored 13 points as New Orleans won its second straight game.
Enes Kanter had 19 points and nine rebounds and John Lucas III scored 14 points for the Jazz, who lost their fourth straight to drop to 1-12. Utah first-round pick Trey Burke (finger) made his NBA debut and scored 11 points in 12 minutes.
The Pelicans opened up a 14-point fourth-quarter lead on back-to-back 3-pointers from Anderson early in the stanza. The Jazz moved within 94-88 after Diante Garrett’s layup with 3:45 left but New Orleans responded with an 11-3 run, with Davis’ dunk making it 105-91 with 1:39 remaining.
The Pelicans led 45-41 at halftime before Utah rallied and used an 11-0 run to take a six-point lead four minutes into the third quarter. New Orleans rebounded to take a 73-69 lead entering the final stanza.
