Manu Ginobili scored 11 of his season-high 24 points over the final 4:11 as visiting San Antonio halted Phoenix’s five-game winning streak.
Tim Duncan recorded his fifth consecutive double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who were without point guard Tony Parker (shin). Kawhi Leonard added 14 points and Patty Mills scored 12 off the bench.
Channing Frye scored 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Goran Dragic added 18 for the Suns, who dropped to 8-4 at home. Eric Bledsoe scored 15 points and Miles Plumlee contributed 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Markieff Morris scored six points during a 10-0 run that saw Phoenix turn a 93-85 deficit into a two-point lead with 5:09 to play. Ginobili tied the game with a basket and followed with a tiebreaking 3-pointer while scoring nine points during a 13-2 run that gave the Spurs a 106-97 lead.
San Antonio led 59-58 at halftime and led by as many as nine in the third quarter. The Spurs led 87-81 entering the final stanza and led by eight after Mills’ basket with 8:30 remaining.
GAME NOTEBOOK: San Antonio had a 58-29 edge in bench points. … Frye hit all four of his 3-point attempts while the rest of the Suns were a combined 3-of-11. … Parker will also miss Thursday’s game at Golden State and will be re-evaluated on Friday.
