Hawks 127, Cavaliers 125 (2OT)

Jeff Teague scored a career-best 34 points and recorded 14 assists and his last-second jumper took four bounces on the rim before dropping in as visiting Atlanta edged Cleveland in dramatic fashion.

Al Horford had 25 points and eight rebounds before leaving with a shoulder injury in overtime for the Hawks. Paul Millsap added 20 points and 11 rebounds and Kyle Korver tallied 20 points.

Kyrie Irving scored a season-best 40 points for the Cavaliers, who led most of the second overtime before succumbing to their third straight loss. Tristan Thompson had 22 points and Dion Waiters scored 20.

Teague’s 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds left in the first overtime forced the second extra session and Cleveland was up five after Thompson’s three-point play with 2:49 remaining. Korver converted a four-point play and a 3-pointer to pull the Hawks within 121-120 with 2:15 left before Teague capped off the best all-around game of his career with the game-winning 20-foot shot.

Atlanta took a 76-72 lead into the fourth quarter and was up six early in the stanza before Cleveland put together a 16-3 spurt to take an 88-81 lead midway through the period. Horford hit back-to-back baskets to tie the score at 95 with 1:04 left before Teague missed a potential game-winning shot with one second left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Korver made four 3-pointers to extend his NBA record to 98 consecutive games of making at least one, and the four-point play was the eighth of his career. … Waiters was 9-of-14 from the field after missing three games with a wrist injury. … Hawks F DeMarre Carroll had eight points and one rebound in 26 minutes before leaving with a sprained right thumb.
