Derrick Favors had 18 points and 14 rebounds and slammed home the game-winning putback with 2.1 seconds left as host Utah handed Los Angeles its fourth straight loss.

Gordon Hayward added 24 points and nine assists and Marvin Williams scored 16 points for the Jazz. Hayward drove to the hoop in the final seconds and missed the shot but a charging Favors leaped and dunked the ball through the hoop.

Nick Young scored 21 points before fouling out for the Lakers and Chris Kaman had 19 points and 10 rebounds while filling in for ill Pau Gasol. Jordan Hill had 16 points and nine rebounds and Jordan Farmar added 16 points and seven assists for Los Angeles, which left the court in defeat when a last-second 3-point attempt by Jodie Meeks was well short.

Los Angeles trailed by seven with five minutes to play before going on a 9-2 run and tying the score at 99 on Meeks’ 3-pointer with 2:47 remaining. Hayward swished a 3-pointer to put Utah back ahead with 1:59 to go and Hill later scored four straight points to tie it at 103 with 18.6 seconds to play.

Trey Burke scored 14 points, including the final seven of the first half to give Utah a 55-52 lead at the break. The advantage reached eight on Hayward’s 3-pointer early in the third and the Jazz settled for an 83-81 edge entering the final stanza.
