A Rasual Butler 3-pointer drew Indiana within seven, but Boris Diaw countered with a 3 to extend the lead to 11, Duncan threw down a dunk with 5:05 remaining and Indiana didn't get closer than 16 the rest of the way.
The Spurs held Indiana to 5-of-17 shooting in the first quarter, surging ahead by double digits on a Diaw 3-pointer in the final minute of the period. The lead grew to as many as 17 before Indiana responded with a pair of short Stephenson jumpers and a late George 18-footer to trail 48-35 entering the break.
