Zach Randolph scored 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting and added 11 rebounds as Memphis knocked off visiting Miami to stay within a game of a playoff spot.

Mike Conley scored 26 points and Marc Gasol collected 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who remained one game behind the Phoenix Suns for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. Courtney Lee scored 18 points as Memphis dominated the interior with a 60-30 advantage on points in the paint.

LeBron James recorded 37 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Heat, who have dropped three of their last four to slip a half-game behind the Indiana Pacers for the top spot in the East. Rashard Lewis knocked down four 3-pointers en route to 17 points off the bench and Chris Bosh scored 13 for Miami.

The Grizzlies took a 93-91 lead on Gasol’s turnaround in the lane and Nick Calathes added a reverse layup off a steal in transition to make it a four-point gap with 5:11 to play. Conley’s transition 3-pointer spread it out to 103-93 with 3:33 left and the Heat never seriously threatened down the stretch.

Randolph went 8-for-8 from the field, including a rare 3-pointer, en route to 17 points in the first quarter but Miami kept pace and held a 32-31 lead at the end of the period before extending it out to 58-54 at the half. James put the Heat up 78-71 late in the third but Memphis finished the period with an 9-2 burst to knot it at 80 heading to the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Heat return home to host the Pacers on Friday. … Miami G Dwyane Wade (hamstring) missed his eighth straight game and C Chris Andersen (knee) sat for the second time in the last three games. … Miami went 15-of-25 from 3-point range but committed 15 turnovers that led to 29 points for Memphis.
