Pacers 101, Hawks 85
Paul George collected 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as host Indiana controlled the second half to even the first-round Eastern Conference series with Atlanta at a game apiece.
Luis Scola added 20 points off the bench and George Hill had 15 points for the Pacers, who outscored the Hawks 53-33 after the break. C.J. Watson scored 10 in a reserve role as Indiana shot 52.9 percent from the field.
Paul Millsap scored 19 points to lead Atlanta, which hosts Game 3 on Thursday. Jeff Teague scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half and Lou Williams and Mike Scott each added 11 points off the bench for the Hawks.
Atlanta shot 50 percent from the field in the first half and took a 52-48 lead into the break but quickly fell off the pace in the third quarter. Lance Stephenson scored five points during a 11-2 burst that put the Pacers in front 66-61 midway through the period.
Elton Brand’s jumper with 3:33 left in the third pulled the Hawks within 68-65 but they would not score for the next 6:30. George’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer sent Indiana into the fourth up 79-65 and he connected from beyond the arc again to push the advantage to 96-69 midway through the fourth before the Pacers cruised through the final minutes.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Hawks used a 30-16 advantage in the third quarter to take control of Game 1 but were outscored 31-13 in that period in Game 2. … Indiana C Roy Hibbert was limited to six points on 1-of-7 shooting and four rebounds in 24 minutes. … The Pacers bridged the third and fourth quarters with a 19-0 run.
