Damian Lillard scored 27 points and Wesley Matthews poured in 11 of his 21 in the fourth quarter as Portland ran away from visiting Cleveland.

Robin Lopez added 19 points and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 16 for the Trail Blazers, who snapped a two-game slide. Lillard knocked down five 3-pointers and went 10-of-10 from the free-throw line while contributing to a defensive effort that limited the Cavaliers to 32 second-half points.

Kevin Love had 22 points and 10 rebounds but LeBron James was held to 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting as Cleveland dropped to 1-2. Kyrie Irving managed nine points on 3-of-17 shooting while Tristan Thompson collected 10 points and eight boards off the bench.

Matthews’ midrange jumper gave the Trail Blazers an 80-69 lead with 9:59 to play, and his 3-pointer with 4:03 left capped an 16-5 burst starting the quarter and pushed the advantage to 92-74. Lillard’s 3-pointer made it 97-78 before Portland emptied the bench.

The Cavaliers shot 61.9 percent from the floor in the first quarter but watched that number drop to 26.1 as the Trail Blazers grabbed control and took a 55-50 lead into the half. James’ turnover led to Aldridge’s layup and a 67-54 lead less than five minutes into the third before Cleveland chopped the deficit back to 76-69 heading into the fourth.
