Rudy Gay hit the go-ahead shot with 1:07 to play as visiting Sacramento knocked off Phoenix to notch its fifth straight victory.

The Kings overcame a seven-point deficit in the first overtime and trailed by four in the second before Gay’s basket put them ahead to stay. DeMarcus Cousins had 25 points and a season-best 18 rebounds before fouling out with 34.7 seconds left in regulation, while Darren Collison scored 16 points and Ben McLemore added 15 as Sacramento improved to 5-1 for the first time since 1999-2000

Eric Bledsoe had 23 points and eight assists and Goran Dragic scored 22 points for the Suns. Markieff Morris had 16 points before fouling out, while Mason Plumlee contributed 15 points and 16 rebounds.

The Kings rolled off 11 consecutive points, tying it at 94 on two free throws by Cousins with just under five minutes left in regulation. A three-point play by Cousins gave Sacramento a 99-97 edge with 1:37 to play before Bledsoe recorded the tying basket with 38.1 seconds left, and the Suns scored the first seven of the first extra session before faltering and allowing the Kings to score the final seven.

Phoenix led by 11 points after the opening quarter but Sacramento used a 9-0 run later in the second and trailed just 58-55 at the break. Bledsoe’s 3-pointer midway through the third gave the Suns a nine-point lead and Phoenix took an 88-77 advantage into the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cousins was 13-of-14 from the free-throw line and Sacramento was 33-of-39 overall. … Suns G Isaiah Thomas had just three points in 17 minutes while facing his former club for the first time. … Gay was just 5-of-22 from the field and scored 11 points.
